I currently reside in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California, although I am a native of the NW. I have always loved working with textiles in almost every form, using the aesthetics of nature to guide me in my choices of color, shapes and more - unless I am working with Holiday designs. I often refer to some of the pieces that I create as painting with fabric, thread and selected embellishments. While I strive for both perfection and quality, I have learned that flaws can be the best part of any work of art, in terms of design. I refer to those as 'delicious imperfections'.
My past work was centered upon cloth dolls, paper dolls, and both articles and graphics related to the two; however, more recently, I have taken my passion for creating into the realm of purses in all forms, bowls, panels and just about anything that can be created from fabric. I do not really have any boundaries or patterns (with the exception of my original cloth doll patterns), as designs evolve from a simple idea or sketch into a finished product. I am fortunate to know the people I have created personal pieces for, from an early age, who have kept those items and still keep them as part of their own life collections.
While I no longer create cloth dolls, I was published in the past and still market my cloth doll patterns. I share my life with my boyfriend, and my dog, Jack the Wonder Mountain Dog, a rescue from AZ. I am also the mother of one grown son, an ex kindergarten teacher, avid gardener, photographer and house chef - often described as a 'white tornado', whirling through my day of multiple tasks.
I am an open book, without a conclusion in sight, and enjoy networking as much as I do solitude. If you have any questions or desire more information, please feel free to contact me.
